Firefox 3 Final to be released in June - Mozilla

Mozilla has said that it plans to rollout Firefox 3 in June this year. Mozilla CEO John Lilly also gave an overview of the Beta releases before the final version is launched.

According to Vice President of engineering Mike Schroepfer, the first Release Candidate will ship in early May. The RC1 stage is the point at which most of the larger extension developers re-work their code to be fully compatible with Firefox 3. Most of the plugins will be compatible with Firefox 3 in a month or so.

Right now the latest Firefox release is Firefox 3.0 Beta 4, with over 700,000 downloads. The public release of Beta 5 will be available in the first week of April, and that will be the final Beta release before Firefox enters the Release Candidate state.
